From week to week, you will have the opportunity to change the expectations to mimic the theme week. Here is an example a staff member created for a theme from last summer

THEME: PIRATES, PAN, and PIXIE DUST
1. Stay wi' yer bucos
2. Listen carefully t' yer cap'n
3. Saiil slowly
4. Be kind to yer mates, keep yer hooks to yerself
5. Stay wit' yer crew
6. Respect yer fellow Buccaneers
7. Don't be a Hornswaggler
8. Be an Old Salt
9. Learn 'n give a go to new things
10. Yo Ho Ho! Have a rucas

I chose to do week 3, Heroes, Old Glory, and The American Story

Possible Rules for Expecations
1. Stay with your buddy - United we stand, divided we fall.
2. Listen carefully to your leader - I WANT YOU to listen to Uncle Sam.
3. Walk slowly - Left, Left, Left, Right, Left
4. Be kind to fellow campers/ Keep your hands to yourself - Keep your rifles at your sides.
5. Stay with your leader/group - Stand beside her and guide her, through the night with a light from above.
6. Respect others - Respect, to get it you must give it/
7. Play fair, everyone wins - With liberty and justice for all.
8. Make wise choices - Don't play with fireworks.
9. Learn and try new things - Start a revolution…with new ideas.
10. HAVE FUN!!!! - Always reach for the stars and let freedom ring

For different weeks such as Slam Jammin Sports Spree

1. Stay with your buddy - Never leave your teammate behind.

Tail Up- expression used commanding elephants to follow in line
Kinkers- term that refers to any performer
Zanies- another term for clowns

Under Water Ocean Commotion Themed rules:
1. Act like a barnacle and stick together
2. To avoid shipwreck, listen to your captain
3. Swim slowly
4. Keep your fins to yourself
5. Don’t leave the reef
6. Fish are friends, not food
7. All drains lead to the ocean
8. Avoid the jellyfish
9. Roll with the tides
10. Have a whale of a time!!

I really like how you incorporated circus slang in your rules!! It keeps the kids entertained with the variety and at the same time they learn something new that they can tell their friends!! Even I didn't know some of the words you used and I was intrigued to find out what they meant.

I love how you incorporated parts of the Declaration of Independence into your rules! The kids who have studied American history already will get a kick out of knowing where these phrases came from and those who haven't will get a chance to learn something new. All of your rules are really great and original too for the theme, good job!

1. Stay with your buddy- Stay with your princess or prince.
2. Listen carefully to your leader- Listen to your fairy Godmother or Godfather
3. Walk slowly- Fly around slowly and carefully
4. Be kind to fellow campers/ Keep your hands to yourself- Keep your wands to yourself.
5. Stay with your leader/group- Don’t leave the Castle.
6. Respect others- Be respectful to your princesses and princes.
7. Play fair, everyone wins- In the end the prince and princess live happily ever after.
8. Make wise choices- All it takes is trust and some pixie dust to make some wise choices.
9. Learn and try new things- If you can dream it, you can do it
10. HAVE FUN!!!!- Have a magnificent time!

I really like how you used actual things from war. But some kids might not know what Revolutionists are so you might have to modify it for them, but other than that I really like these, they are very creative.

These ones are very creative. For respect others you could also say be a team player. Other than that one I think these was are very good. I really like the one that is "We're all number one!" that one is a good one.

I love the "trust and pixie dust" reference! For listen to the leader or stay with the leader, you could also use "Stay with the Queen or King!"

2. Listen carefully to your leader: Follow the lifeguard's rules!
3. Walk slowly: Paddle slowly!
4. Be kind to fellow campers/ Keep your hands to yourself: Keep sand, shovels, and surfboards to yourself!
5. Stay with your leader/group: Don't leave your dune!
6. Respect others: Respect your beach crew!
7. Play fair, everyone wins: Play fair in the sand and in the waves!
8. Make wise choices: Think before breaking for the waves!
9. Learn and try new things: Build a sandcastle, ride the waves, and try new games!
10. HAVE FUN!!!!: Have a super splash day!

You came up some great ideas, and I really like the Finding Nemo reference Smile The kids who are fans of the movie will definitely remember this rule all week!

I really liked this set of rules! I think the nemo rules will be really popular with the kids. Also, the rules just seem to flow and are easy to remember!

I really like these rules. The beach words really work well with the set of rules. I feel that the kids will get a good laugh out of the sillyness of it all. Awesome rules!

I think these rules would work really well at camp! They are really clever and fun and I think the kids would really enjoy these!

I really like your "keep your paws, claws, and juggling balls to yourself" rule, doing clever things like using a rhyme will stick in campers heads more than anything!

Kelly I know the Sports Spree is your favorite week Smile and I really like your rules! Especially no fouling, or you'll have to sit on the bench. Rules that explain what a camper must do and the consequences for not obeying make it very clear.
